Duct Cleaning and Duct Repair

Your home has a system of pipes that carry the ventilating air to and from your heating and cooling system.  These pipes are called ‘ducts’. When these ducts are not sealed as designed they prevent your home’s heating and cooling system or systems from doing their job efficiently and effectively.  The symptoms are:

• Comfort problems (Hot or Cold rooms)
• Humidity problems
• High utility bills

But worse yet, duct leaks can create air quality problems damaging the health of your family by pulling pollutants and irritants directly into the house. Leaks in what is called the ‘supply’ ductwork (the part of your ventilation system that ‘supplies’ the living spaces with conditioned air) can cause air you have already paid to be cooled or heated to escape into non-living paces such as your attic, crawlspace or other areas instead of into the intended living spaces costing you significant increases in your utility bills.  If you have a leaky return system (the return system is the duct pipes that ‘return’ air from the inside of the living spaces to the furnace or A/C unit to be ‘re-conditioned’ and sent back into the home) it could be supplying your heating and cooling system with unfiltered outside air which is hotter in summer and colder in winter than the preferred air from within your living space which is at a temperature closer to what you desire and is usually air that is the least costly to heat or cool. When these supply leaks are present they reduce both the efficiency and capacity of your system costing you money. But worse that the money you waste, these leaks draw poor quality air into the house from ‘dirty’ air sources such as your crawlspaces, garages and attics introducing dust, dirt, mold spores, insulation fibers and other contaminants into your homes air.
